About Us

Jai and Kate Stokes established Pines Road Pastured Eggs in 2024 to produce pasture-raised eggs at our family farm in the Chittering Valley, around an hour north of Perth.

‘Pastured’ or ‘Pasture-Raised’ means our hens are free to roam and forage on open pastures, with a significantly lower stocking density than traditional free-range operations. The hens live and roost in small groups in purpose-built portable sheds, known as chicken 'caravans', which are frequently moved around our property. The caravans are open at all times during the day (except during any periods of severe weather), which allows access to fresh grazing areas. This results in happier, healthy hens and more delicious, nutritious and sustainably produced eggs. These are hand-collected and packed daily on the farm. In the evening, the chickens return to the safety of the caravan to sleep. They are protected by our Maremma dog, Spud, who lives with them full-time to ensure they are safe from predators.

Our family have been farming sheep and growing crops in Western Australia for multiple generations. We are now raising two young sons to be part of the next generation and are especially conscious of imparting sustainable and ethical farming practices. After seeing the benefits of grazing hens on pasture, producing noticeably tastier, more nutritious and ethical eggs, while improving soil health, we decided to bring pasture-raised egg production to our farm on Pines Road in Wannamal and Pines Road Pastured Eggs was born.

We hope you enjoy eating these eggs as much as we enjoy producing them!
